User-privileges

    shield-icon-blue   shield-icon-red

The Shield icon has two purposes:

1. It shows the current user-privileges of the PA-RUN program:

shield-icon-blue Blue shield icon: PA-RUN has been started with standard user-privileges

shield-icon-red Red shield icon: PA-RUN has been started with Administrator (elevated) user-privileges

2. Clicking the shield-icon button restarts PA-RUN with the opposite user privileges (Administrator  Standard user)

▶ Please note that, for security reasons, Windows does not allow to drag and drop a file to a program running in administrator mode (i.e. with elevated privileges). So if you need to drag and drop a file to PA-RUN in this case, then you should restart PA-RUN in standard user mode.

▶ Please note that when you open the PA-RUN ProgramList you will see a different number of items in the ProgramList window depending on whether PA-RUN has been started with standard user privileges or with elevated privileges.
