Global Hotkey

A "Global Hotkey" is a keyboard shortcut that you can use no matter what program or application you're currently using on your computer. It's "global" because it works across all applications, not just within one specific program. For example, on many computers, pressing the "Ctrl" key plus the "C" key at the same time (written as "Ctrl+C") will copy highlighted text, no matter what program you're in. This is an example of a global hotkey.
